Storyline: A rap version of "Saturday Night Fever." B-Rabbit, a wannabe rapper from the wrong side of Detroit's 8 Mile, has problems: he dumps his girlfriend when she tells him she's pregnant; to save money to make a demo tape, he moves into his alcoholic mom's trailer; his job's a dead end, and he's just choked at the local head-to-head rap contest. Things improve when he meets Alex – an aspiring model headed for New York – and a fast-talking pal promises to set up the demo. Then new setbacks: Alex isn't faithful, mom rejects him, rifts surface with his friends, and he's mugged by rivals. Everything hinges on the next rap showdown at the club. Can B-Rabbit pull truth out of his cap?

With a focus on advertising biopics movement, 8 Mile is one of the best examples executed. Although it is selfish at times, is also an impressive Eminem open and honest take on the roots and the block was imposed excuses he set for himself before taking even a celebrity perfume. The plot outside Mr. Marshall Mathers is rather simplistic and limited, however, with the majority of players simply in orbit around the star, and react to his outbursts of anger, frustration. I found the battle taken to be the most intense and exciting as a good action scene, and the decision to limit a few key was a smart move that doubled their importance. Eminem was surprisingly good in the title role, can not be too exaggerated to play themselves in the history of cinema in your own life to fame, but I’ve certainly seen many try and fail. Authentic, street-smart inspiration that offers a fresh take on a tired old story.

Those who say `8 Mile” Eminem shows vanilla-to may have a point: this film has a non-public relationship as the ‘Wild Style “. Introduces us to the hip-hop, but those who say Eminem is sterilized center display here have a strange idea of language. Perhaps his CD contains more material than inflammation is transmitted in this film, but what is said here is certainly not for all suburban grandmothers who are deaf is not surprising
-. Admirable, really – as Curtis Hansen and his team keep track of the plot of a scene in which not much of it seems to matter a number of problems with the rabbit mother, Stephanie Smith -. Basinger Kim Basinger is a blue ribbon Southern white trash trailor park mom can not help but think that small adjustments could be the mother of a boy Grosse Pointe. preparatory school, a woman whose problem was overtaking the other hand the imminent expulsion of a tow smelly. Bassinger is trashiness attractive appearance, just as he had movie star attractive decomposition when Hansen live in Los Angeles `confidential” six years ago. Problems with rabbit friends are not significant, although it has two of them, the old and the new. Both are delicious, but created specifically for the refusal. Relations narrow rabbit with her boyfriend rapper `future ‘(played by a very charming and adorable Pfifer mikh) and slightly delayed sign white homie, Cheddar Bob (Evan Jones).
But its closest relationship is with him all the same, as is apparent from the first scene in which Eminem rap gestures in competition instituted people look in the mirror, listening to his music in my head – and that’s okay, because this is what a young to do: take a good relationship with who is working the film is about to leave for his own well-being and his companions to leave become noisy. winner, and he will do it himself in the final scene. comparison with Shakespeare’s Henry IV is not in place. parallel The Shakespeare has been used explicitly for the character of Keanu Reeves `My Own Private Idaho” but the theme is really more important. Eminem is not a cold personality as Keanu Reeves in Gus Van Sant. It ‘close to his friends and they are always touching hands and gently embrace. The hands and the straps are one of the main images that stick with you after seeing `8 Mile.
as described in `Eminem 8 Mile” is not entirely motivated by anger at all. His anger is contained. He seems able to turn on and off at will and leave only when necessary – to crush rap competitions or dispose fish friend of his mother. E ‘his ability to control his anger makes both rabbit and Eminem winners.
Eminem have an authenticity that makes him a strong presence on the screen. Paradoxically, it casts a powerful internal, so that his move away from everyone, because his face is obvious. Its effect is authenticity, because it does not react to the public and please continue the scene, but it is still there, moving with the scene and made his creation .
`8 Mile” is not just a vehicle for Eminem. too well it is a movie like this. Eminem 8 Mile, but without `’does not exist. The importance of rap contest hosted by future `” This is the first Rabbit escapes them, and then you enter and win. You must be wondering how the rapper / actors feel those of the film should not be repressed by Eminem.
` 8 Mile “can not exceed the limits of the stars fictionalized biopic. There have been dozens of films on emerging music stars and their families, their sponsors starting first big breaks, and so on, many of them with more scope and specificity of detail itself. This film is his hero, when he goes, having been shown to be a star. The emphasis is his personality, and in particular immobility. The most important moments are those in which Rabbit / Eminem stands with a microphone in hand, in silence, waiting for inspiration to strike. Even when he chooses not to compete and go back microphone, this moment is full of energy. Eminem in this film brings the pure expression of imminence, raw potential to a new level of clarity and confidence.
    rapper is there.

  • Brain says:

… But sticking to a certain music-film formula, and not stick to the truth of the atmosphere Eminem-felt need at this time in the slums of Detroit is perfectly captured by director Curtis Hanson and rap scenes are over, but non-fans of Eminem who see the film may feel bad about him, and fans and observers of his last three albums (like me) will spit Much of his material. For example, the relationship between a mother (Kim Basinger) and his girlfriend pregnant are not that Marshall treated furiously on his album 2 and 3.
That said, I enjoyed 8 Mile, the fact that emotions are cheap, and misery Jimmy “Rabbit” Smith and frustrations are projected beautifully by Eminem, because it is essentially a version of how he did it begin in a caravan, dressed in a garbage bag and a car that breaks down all the time, but has a knack for getting people to the good times with rhymes. I also thought (in a sense) that Basinger does a decent job with the mother rabbit, and does not seem too much like a Hollywood starlet here.
    Bottom line
, fans of Eminem and those who identify with the lifestyle of metropolitan Detroit will have some exciting hours with Mr. Shady on the screen, and perhaps others as well. However, Hanson fans should know that this is not his best film. Grade: B +

  • Oscar says:

I remember when this movie came out, I like a girl and I liked it a lot. I do not like rap (and still do not), but I had a crush on Eminem later. Rewatching that 10 years later I am less impressed, but I still think it was generally well done.
I want to say that Eminem has done a good job. I do not think it was Oscar worthy performance or what he has done something extraordinary, but it was convincing and I did not shiver. I’m surprised today has a greater effect. I used to think that it will become an actor like Justin Timberlake did.
Of course, should not be too hard to do when the film is half his biography. You can see the problems with the mother that affected both life was pretty much all who spoke at the time of the film. I’m glad to know that so stop immediately. You might first think Kim Basinger as a surprising choice, considering the age difference they have, but we must remember that Eminem plays someone much younger than him, which makes it a pretty good choice. I want to know what his real mother thought it must have been flattered.
I think Brittany Murphy is a very talented artist, but in this movie, it was terrible. Even the natural expression of your face all the time. E ‘was also horrible sex scene that would otherwise be very hot.
I think one of the things that bothered me most in the film tries to make it look good father rabbit to her sister. I hate these techniques to get the sympathy of the public. And it was so sweet that he had vomited thinking.
I think the view was great, between the factory and its classroom. It offers a wonderful ambience and the editing of the film, I still think the film is good.
I think it’s more for the age group it was 10 years ago, precisely for this reason that I have loved ever since. So if you like rap is certainly far above all enjoy the battle scenes more. And I’m not even a fan of Eminem, you will love

  • Santos says:

I’ve never had much interest in Eminem, I thought it was a foolish man with a chainsaw who loved yelling for no good reason. I never imagined that I want to see a film with him in. Then I saw the trailer for 8 Mile and I was fascinated. Wait, I thought … this looks like it could be ok. So I went to see him, expecting to hate.
I know nothing about rap or hip-hop. It is a culture that escaped me up to now. So I went to see this film without even a vague idea of the history of music we listen to every day on the radio. I went to see this film finally see the point, to finally see what all the fuss is about.
Eminem impressed me so much. His acting skills, his verbal dexterity. He could really enjoy this movie and used to kiss their ass. But to his credit, has chosen to show his human side.I can not think of another artist in his position would have been exposed as this. The story is fresh and the script seems natural. The action of the rest of the cast is great, but often lost a couple of things that I could not cope with all the American slang (I’m sooo cool!). I showed it to several people who have commented on how much they had to consider that do not really want to see.
In short, the movie gave me a small fan. I went out and had the film and music. I do not have that Eminem is a chainsaw weilding idiot, but a talent and something interesting to say. Marshall, if you’re out there, I’m sorry, I’m so bad.
I guess what I’m saying is that even if you think you can not stand the man, give the film a shot. You may just be surprised.
